I like traveling because I get to see places that are different from what I’m used to. Going on safari in South Africa was one of those experiences that felt different from seeing it in pictures. Seeing wildlife in its natural surroundings made me want to explore more places for myself. I could have looked at photos of the same place at home, but it would not have felt the same as actually being there. That is a big part of why I want to keep traveling.
At home, I usually stick to the same places and activities. When I travel, I’m more willing to try something new, even if it’s just food I wouldn’t normally order. I enjoy finding out that I like something I might never have tried at home. Sometimes it is easier to give something a chance when I am away from my normal routine. It does not have to be anything extreme. Even trying a different meal can give me something to remember about a trip.
I also love traveling because of the people I go with. Visiting Los Angeles with my friends stands out because we got to explore somewhere different together. Having those shared memories gives us something to look back on after the trip is over. I like being able to talk about a moment with someone who was there and remembers it too. The place matters, but being with my friends is a big part of what makes those trips fun for me.
